Nestled in the heart of lush, rolling countryside in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand, our retreat centre is the perfect place for you to destress, slow down, recharge and reconnect with nature.

 

This very special retreat gives you the opportunity to take a luxurious 9 days of rest and relaxation for yourself.

 

Your home for 9 days and nights, our yoga shala and bungalows are situated around a peaceful and private fresh water lake, the perfect place for mediating, reflecting or going for a swim.

Imagine blissful days spent by the river, perhaps getting a massage, eating delicious food and luxuriating in a yoga practice each morning and evening.

 

You have the option to do as much or as little as you choose, spending your long, relaxing days exactly as you wish.

 

A Typical Day Schedule:

 

Early morning meditation session by the lake

Morning yoga session

Breakfast – deliciously prepared at the venue

Free time to spend as you choose – time to explore the local area with optional day trips and activities

Lunch – deliciously prepared at the venue

Afternoon – your free time to spend as you choose or a group excursion

Afternoon yoga session – (replaced by Thai Yoga Massage for one session)

Dinner – deliciously prepared at the venue

Free time to rest and enjoy the evening as you choose

 

Between our yoga sessions, there are many little shalas and spaces where you can rest and read. You can take a cooling swim in the lake or the Himalayan Salt Water Pool, go for a bicycle ride, have a treatment in the Retreat Spa or even go to the small onsite gym!

The Yoga

 

You will enjoy two delicious yoga sessions every day on retreat. The morning session will usually be more active – including flowing vinyasa yoga and sun salutations to help you feel energised and ready for the rest of the day ahead.

 

Our late afternoon session will consist of gentler practices, including yin, restorative and yoga nidra. These sessions will support you to relax, unwind and absorb the benefits of your peaceful time on retreat.

 

On select days throughout the retreat, we will also enjoy early morning meditation sessions together on the lake pontoon, a truly beautiful experience.

 

One of our afternoon sessions will be replaced by a session of Thai Yoga Massage. If you’ve not had an opportunity to experience Thai Yoga Massage before, it’s a wonderfully relaxing and releasing practice that blends together acupressure and yoga techniques to balance the body physically and energetically, a perfect addition to our retreat.

The Food

 

The retreat is fully catered, and you’ll be served three delicious meals a day during your stay at the venue, along with herbal teas and ionized water throughout the day.

 

The food will be traditionally prepared vegetarian Thai food, with many of the ingredients coming straight from the Organic Farm that is part of the retreat centre. We’ll enjoy our meals together as a group, with breakfast and dinner being served after our morning and afternoon yoga sessions.

 

Thai cuisine is infamous for its depth and balance of flavours, so this will be an experience for your taste buds too! And if you’d like to bring the food home with you – cooking demonstrations and workshops are available at the retreat venue as an optional extra.

The Accommodation 

 

We will be staying in simple, spacious and light Thai-style bungalows,  situated around the lake at our retreat centre. All bungalows are en-suite with single, twin and triple options available.

 

If you are travelling with friends you can request to share a twin or triple room. Single rooms are available for an additional supplement. Alternatively, if you are travelling alone but are happy to share a room, depending on guest numbers there may be an opportunity to share a twin or triple room with fellow retreat attendees*.

 

*Please note that in the exceptional circumstance that you request a shared room and nobody else does, you will need to pay the single room rate.

What’s included in the price?

 

  • 9 nights accommodation
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner each day

  • 2 yoga sessions each day*

  • 1 x 60 minute massage treatment
  • Steam room session

 

* On arrival/departure days there will be either 1 or no yoga sessions. On excursion days, there may only be 1 session depending on timing. There will be some additional sessions on other days.

What’s not included in the price?

 

The following are not included in the retreat price:

 

  • Flights
  • Transfers
  • Additional drinks and snacks not listed above
  • Additional treatments not list above
  • Local trips and excursions
  • Additional 2 or 3 day trek in the Chiang Mai area at the end of the retreat – if there is interest for some people to do this I would be interested in coming along and happy to co-ordinate this nearer the time

 

The retreat price means except for your flights and travel to the venue, you don’t need to pay for anything else unless you want to.

 

But to give you an idea of additional costs, please see below a guide price list of some optional extras and local suggestions if you’d like to extend your trip in Chiang Rai, accurate as of May 2018.

Flights to Thailand – these do not need to be booked until nearer the time – I will send out information in 2019 to help you with this. However, you can get a direct flight to Thailand for about £500 – or less if you are happy to have a stopover somewhere.

 

  • Flights from Bangkok to Chiang Rai are around £20 – 25 each way
  • ½ day Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Rai – 1400B (£34)  full day 1800B (£42) + transport
  • Transport to/from Chiang Rai airport or town £10 each way car hire for 3 people, or £20 each way minibus for 6 – 8 people
  • Transport hire to local temples – 1 day minivan hire for up to 10 people £90. Temple entrance fees a couple of £’s per person
  • Local cycling tour afternoon £12pp
  • Cookery demonstration £10pp
  • Field to table cookery workshop £45pp
  • 1 hour massage treatments from £30
  • 3 day 2 night eco-trekking Chiang Mai, groups of 4 – 10 people £40 – 50 per person
  • 3 day 2 night min 2 max 6 people off the beaten track trek  £80 – 120 per person
  • 2 day 1 night local village trek 2 – 6 people £70 – £95 per person
